The Fake Author Column Published in the Florida Newspaper

An AI-generated opinion piece regarding the Iran war was published in the Port St. Joe Star, a small-scale Florida weekly newspaper. It drew attention that this article was published under a non-existent author name.

It was determined that the pseudonym Ervin Hoskins, which appeared at the bottom of the article, had previously appeared on different platforms with anti-war content.

Similar Content Seen in Different Publishing Outlets

It was understood that the same fake author name was also used in larger media outlets outside of the Port St. Joe Star. Articles under this name also appeared on platforms such as Daily Kos and Middle East Monitor.

It was noted that all of the articles in question contained similar arguments criticizing the war and were part of a large-scale disinformation effort.
