As part of the 30th of August Victory Day celebrations held in the Ephesus Selçuk district of İzmir, a Torchlight Procession, folk dance performances, and a concert were organized.
The 30th of August Victory Day celebrations organized by the Municipality of Ephesus Selçuk were held with great enthusiasm throughout the district, starting with an official ceremony at the Atatürk Monument, followed by a Torchlight Procession, folk dance performances, and concert events.
Official Ceremony in Front of the Atatürk Monument
The 30th of August Victory Day celebrations in Ephesus Selçuk began with an official ceremony held in front of the Atatürk Monument and continued with various events throughout the day.
Torchlight Procession and March Through City Streets
In the evening hours, citizens filling the city streets with Turkish flags and torches marched accompanied by marching songs.
While the procession was accompanied by the Ephesus Selçuk Municipality Youth Band and the Artemis Band, Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel also joined the group by playing the drums.
Enthusiastic Gathering at Station Square
Following the Torchlight Procession, which ended at Station Square, thousands of citizens filling the area enthusiastically sang the National Anthem in unison.
Meaningful Speech by Mayor Sengel
Addressing the citizens in the square, Ephesus Selçuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel emphasized that 104 years ago, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk believed in independence and the nation.
In her speech, Mayor Sengel also remembered Yaşar Yılmaz, who lost his life, as well as those who perished in the accident in Kyrenia.
Folk Dance Performance and Tournament Awards
The Ephesus Selçuk Municipality Folk Dance Team, directed by Ulaş Erol and Yeşim Erol, took the stage and presented an impressive zeybek performance to the audience.
As part of the Victory Cup Tournaments, awards were presented by protocol members to athletes who ranked in the beach volleyball, 3x3 basketball, and football branches.
Celebrations Concluding with the Eliz Band Concert
District residents filling Station Square thoroughly experienced the enthusiasm of August 30 accompanied by the Eliz Band concert organized by the Municipality of Ephesus Selçuk.
