İçel Art Club President Ali Gök stated that the city ranks sixth in Turkey in the fields of culture and art, and expressed that the state and ministries should contribute in order to eliminate infrastructure deficiencies.

Cultural Potential and Ranking

Ali Gök emphasized in an interview that Mersin ranks sixth among eighty-one provinces in Turkey in terms of its culture and art accumulation.

Infrastructure and Hall Insufficiency

It was stated that the biggest obstacle encountered in artistic events in the city is the lack of halls and the difficulty in finding suitable venues, and that the efforts of local governments alone remain insufficient.

Central Budget and State Support

It was stated that relevant ministries and the state should provide support with central budget facilities so that Mersin's potential can be fully evaluated.

History Studies and Book Promotion

Operating within the İçel Art Club, the twenty-five-person History Board prepared an important source work on the history of Mersin and the War of Independence period, and promoted it in different cities.
