Çamlık Mosque Built in Bodrum Opened for Worship with a Ceremony
Built with Seljuk architecture, the Çamlık Mosque was completed in 15 months and opened its doors through the initiatives of former Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and the support of philanthropists.
The Çamlık Mosque, built in the Bodrum district of Muğla under the leadership of former Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and with the support of philanthropists, has been opened for worship with an official ceremony.
Construction Process of Çamlık Mosque
The construction process of the mosque, built in the Seljuk architectural style in the Çamlık neighborhood of Muğla's Bodrum district, was completed in approximately 15 months.
Speeches Made at the Opening Ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık stated that mosques are important meeting places where society comes together and thanked everyone who contributed.
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that the idea of building the mosque emerged when the neighborhood headman reported that the existing mosque was inadequate.
Contributors to the Project and New Good News
Thanking the institutions and philanthropists who contributed to the project, Çavuşoğlu announced that efforts are underway to build a school that will bear the name of his brother Aydın Çavuşoğlu, who recently passed away.
Protocol and the First Prayer
The opening program was attended by Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, AK Party Muğla Deputy Kadem Mete, Bodrum District Governor Ali Sırmalı, Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, protocol members, and neighborhood residents.
Following the ribbon cutting, participants and neighborhood residents performed the first Friday prayer in the mosque.
