Culture Route Festival Started in Çanakkale
The culture and art marathon, held for the fifth time in Çanakkale as the 16th stop of the Turkey Culture Road Festival, has opened its doors with rich events.
In Çanakkale, the 16th stop of the Turkey Culture Road Festival, the festival held for the fifth time this year began on August 29, 2026, with the participation of Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı.
Opening Ceremony
The nine-day culture, art, and gastronomy marathon in Çanakkale, the 16th stop of the Turkey Culture Road Festival, started with an opening program held at the Anatolian Hamidiye Bastion Hangar Building with the participation of Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı.
In the city experiencing the festival enthusiasm for the fifth time, the historical heritage extending from Troy to the Çanakkale Wars meets hundreds of events ranging from concerts to exhibitions, and from theater to workshops.
Protocol Participation
In addition to Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı, the opening program was attended by Çanakkale Governor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Toraman, New Party Çanakkale Deputy İsmet Güneşhan, Çanakkale Wars Gallipoli Historical Area President İsmail Kaşdemir, Turkey Culture Road Festival General Director Selim Terzi, provincial protocol, and numerous art lovers.
Following the opening, protocol members visited the Living Heritage Çanakkale Exhibition and examined the works.
First Day Events
On the first day of the festival, exhibitions, talks, workshops, and children's events were organized at various points across the city.
A talk titled 'Troy in Homer's World' with the participation of Prof. Dr. Rüstem Aslan was held at the Çanakkale Mehmet Akif Ersoy Provincial Public Library.
Culture and Art Talks
At the Anatolian Hamidiye Bastion Hangar, Çanakkale carpets were discussed within the scope of the Living Heritage Talk accompanied by Lecturer Dr. Hanife Güneş Yarmacı.
Additionally, while a tile-making workshop accompanied by Gamze Yüksel and a marbling workshop accompanied by Mustafa Cakar were organized, a tour event accompanied by an expert archaeologist was held at the Troy Ancient City Archaeological Site.
Special Programs for Children
An event titled 'Why is the Poppy Red' with the participation of Prof. Dr. Ebru Aktan Acar and Ayşegül Dede was organized for children at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Provincial Public Library.
Within the scope of the Children's Film Festival organized for the 22nd time by the TÜRSAK Foundation, free film screenings and workshops were held at Paribu Cineverse in Çanakkale 17 Burda Shopping Mall.
Concert Marathon
The festival's concert marathon started with a concert by Ceza, who performed at the Anatolian Hamidiye Bastion Open-Air Stage.
Throughout the nine-day festival, Ceza, Kıraç, Bengü, Oğuzhan Koç, Özcan Deniz, Simge, Sefo, Gökhan Türkmen, and Bayhan will give concerts, and the events will continue until September 6, 2026.
