Kocaeli Book Fair Opens Its Doors for the 16th Time
The 16th Kocaeli Book Fair, held at the Kocaeli Congress Center, welcomes book lovers with hundreds of publishing houses and over a thousand events.
Organized for the 16th time this year by the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, the Kocaeli Book Fair continues to welcome visitors at the Kocaeli Congress Center until October 11.
History of the Fair and Event Details
Continuing its cultural journey that began in 2009 into the year 2026, the organization meets with book lovers at the Kocaeli Congress Center. Hundreds of gatherings in many different fields are held within the scope of the event.
While 515 publishing houses, second-hand bookstores, and non-governmental organizations take part in the fair this year, a total of 1,065 talks, panels, and autograph sessions on subjects such as history, literature, philosophy, and psychology are being organized.
Visitor Record and Regional Importance
Having hosted approximately 9.44 million visitors over its first 15-year period, the organization serves as an exemplary model for book fairs organized by local governments in Anatolia.
Emphasis on Culture City
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın emphasizes that the city is no longer just an industrial city. Mayor Büyükakın states that the city has truly transformed into a culture city with libraries, museums, and investments in culture and arts.
