Realized in collaboration with Canopy Istanbul Taksim and Pi Artworks and curated by Yasemin Bay, the Once Upon a Time Now group exhibition brings the historical and cultural fabric of the district together with visitors.

Venue and History of the Exhibition

Canopy Istanbul Taksim is located in Beyoğlu, one of the centers of Istanbul's culture and art life. Housing within its body a historical Armenian school that was once part of Beyoğlu's multicultural life, the building brings together architectural and cultural traces from different periods with today's life.

Curatorial Approach and Scope

Curated by Yasemin Bay, the Once Upon a Time Now exhibition takes its starting point from the structure of Beyoğlu, which has never belonged to a single period, culture, or identity. Emphasizing that different periods, cultures, and personal stories continue to live on the same surface, the selection opens space for these layers to exist side by side.

Artists and Works Featured in the Exhibition

The exhibition features works by Nancy Atakan, Rugül Serbest, Antonio Cosentino, Kemal Seyhan, Ayten Turanlı, Güneş Acur, Osman Dinç, Erdal Duman, and Albano Hernández, represented by Pi Artworks. Bringing together different production forms ranging from painting to sculpture and ceramics, the selection is shaped around the concepts of memory, city, time, material, and layer.

Visitor Information

Featuring works by artists from Turkey and around the world, the Once Upon a Time Now exhibition can be visited free of charge at Canopy Istanbul Taksim between September 16 and November 15, 2026.
