Türkiye Century Education Model Social Activities Policy Document Published
The Ministry of National Education has announced a new policy document that brings social activities in schools into a systematic framework under five themes.
Prepared by the Directorate General for Secondary Education of the Ministry of National Education, the Social Activities Policy Document structures social activities in schools under five main headings: culture, art, sports, science, and nature-environment-society.
Implementation Principles and Cooperations
The policy document treats social activities as a holistic development process and envisions schools planning these activities according to student needs.
Sustainable collaborations with external stakeholders such as universities, municipalities, non-governmental organizations, and sports clubs are planned during the planning and implementation processes.
Five Themes and Objectives
Activities to be carried out in schools are organized under the themes of Our Cultural World, Art, Science, Sports, and Nature-Environment-Society.
Within the framework of this structuring, a total of 5 main objectives and 26 sub-objectives have been determined.
Activity Examples and Action Plans
It has been decided that a School-Based Social Activities Action Plan will be prepared in all schools every year.
For the designated themes, a total of 160 sample implementation activities have been prepared: 55 in the field of Our Cultural World, 25 for Art, 25 for Sports, 25 for Science, and 30 for Nature-Environment-Society.
New Clubs and Mandatory Structures
With the published document, 48 new and current student clubs have been introduced to the education system.
Kızılay, Yeşilay, Beyazay, Siberay, History and Cultural Heritage, Nature and Habitable Environment, Healthy Life and Physical Activity, and Life Skills clubs have been included among the mandatory clubs to be established in all schools.
Monitoring and Annual Increase Targets
All activities carried out will be closely monitored through the e-School Social Activities Module along with field observations.
The annex of the document also includes annual increase targets for the period covering the 2026-2027 and 2029-2030 academic years.
