2027-2029 MTP Preparations and Support Packages Discussed at Economic Coordination Board Meeting
In the statement made after the meeting, new financing and support steps targeting the real sector were announced, while macroeconomic stability and structural reform were highlighted.
The Economic Coordination Board, convened under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, announced that the fight against inflation will continue without compromising fiscal discipline and that preparations for the Medium-Term Program covering the 2027-2029 period have been launched.
Fight Against Inflation and Medium-Term Program
In the statement issued after the Economic Coordination Board meeting chaired by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, it was stated that the fight against inflation will be sustained through supply-side policies, particularly in food and housing, without compromising fiscal discipline.
During the meeting, the current stage of preparations for the Medium-Term Program (MTP) covering the 2027-2029 period was evaluated. It was noted that the work is being carried out transparently in line with suggestions from public institutions, as well as the private sector, civil society, professional organizations, and academia.
Financing Support for the Real Sector and Exporters
Financial supports implemented to protect production and employment were also announced at the board meeting. Premium support provided per employee in certain manufacturing industry sectors was raised to 3,500 liras, while the daily rediscount credit limit for exporters was increased from 4.5 billion liras to 5 billion liras.
While the limit of the Advance Credits Against Investment Commitment Program was brought to 750 billion liras, a new credit support of 250 billion liras was provided to the manufacturing industry. Additionally, an extra financing opportunity of 60 billion liras backed by Treasury guarantee was provided to the tourism sector to limit the impacts of geopolitical developments.
