August 2026 Industrial Production Data: Manufacturing Declined, Energy Rose
According to TurkStat data, while the manufacturing industry contracted in August 2026, annual and monthly increases were observed in the mining and energy sectors.
The Turkish Statistical Institute has released the industrial production index data for August 2026. Accordingly, while annual and monthly declines occurred in manufacturing industry production, increases were recorded in the mining and energy sectors.
Annual Changes in the Industrial Sector
According to the data shared by TurkStat, the manufacturing industry sector index decreased by 2.5 percent in August compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the same annual period, the mining and quarrying sector index recorded an increase of 1.7 percent.
The electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and distribution sector index showed a 1.3 percent rise on an annual basis.
Monthly Production Performances
When examining monthly performances, it was determined that manufacturing industry production experienced a 1.6 percent decline compared to the previous month.
The mining and quarrying sector index exhibited a significant increase of 4.1 percent compared to the previous month.
In the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector, a production increase of 3.3 percent occurred compared to the previous month.
