Azerbaijan's largest pharmaceutical production facility, established by Turkish investors in the Pirallahi Industrial Park near Baku, has gone into service with a ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev.
Opening and Location of the Facility
The country's largest pharmaceutical production facility, built in the Pirallahi Industrial Park near Azerbaijan's capital Baku, opened its doors with an official ceremony.
Partnership and Cooperation Structure
It started operations under Gen Pharma Caucasus Manufacturing Operations MMC within the framework of cooperation between GEN İlaç ve Sağlık Ürünleri AŞ and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
Capacity and Production Areas
Established on an area of 5.2 hectares, the annual production capacity of the facility is planned at 60 million boxes of medicine, meaning approximately 2.5 billion tablets and capsules.
Various medicines in the fields of painkillers, antibiotics, cardiology, neurology, urology, diabetology, and gastroenterology will be produced at the facility.
Employment and Target Markets
At the facility, which will employ a total of 178 people, the medicines produced are targeted to be exported to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and other countries in addition to the domestic market.
Future Production Targets
GEN İlaç Chairman of the Board Abidin Gülmüş announced that they aim to produce 50 medicines in the first phase in 2027 and reach over 500 medicines within five years.
