The abundance during the fishing season in the Black Sea led to a significant drop in prices at fish stalls and attracted great public interest.

Bonito Prices Dropped at Stalls

Bonito, which was sold at high prices per piece at the beginning of the season, dropped down to fifty liras with the increase in fishing.

At some stalls, four bonitos or five smaller-sized bonitos were offered for sale with affordable promotional campaigns.

Intense Interest and Purchases by Citizens

With the drop in prices, long queues formed in front of the fishmongers and citizens created a crowd.

It was observed that some citizens bought large quantities, such as twenty fish each, to consume during the winter months.

Fishermen's Views and Evaluations

Fisherman Aydın Ceylan stated that they lowered their profit margin and started the price at fifty liras so that the public could eat plenty of fish.

Fisherman Gökmen Ceylan, on the other hand, stated that the product is abundant and the price remains even cheaper than hazelnuts.
