According to the September Price Developments Report published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, consumer prices increased by 1.84 percent, while annual inflation dropped by 1.78 points to 29.73 percent, and the main trend of inflation recorded a decline compared to the previous month.

Consumer and Annual Inflation

The September Price Developments Report published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey highlighted the change in consumer prices. According to the report, consumer prices recorded an increase of 1.84 percent in September. Following these developments, annual inflation experienced a drop of 1.78 points, retreating to the 29.73 percent level.

Developments in Food Prices

On a monthly basis, food prices declined under the influence of the drop in fresh fruit and vegetable prices. While food prices decreased by 0.20 percent compared to the previous month, the drop in fresh vegetable and fruit prices was recorded at 8.93 percent. It was emphasized that favorable supply conditions played a decisive role in this decline.

Increase in Energy Prices

Energy prices recorded an increase, spearheaded by rising fuel prices under the influence of global developments. In this context, energy prices rose by 6.25 percent on a monthly basis.

Education and Return-to-School Effect

With the new academic year, a 16.04 percent increase was observed in school bus transportation fees. The monthly increase in dormitory fees, where the return-to-school effect was observed, remained limited at 19.99 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Core Goods and Producer Inflation

In the core goods group, clothing and footwear prices increased by 4.01 percent with the transition to the new season. Producer prices rose by 2.07 percent in September compared to the previous month, while annual producer inflation fell by 0.57 points to 27.38 percent.
