Critical developments on the economic agenda in September

As the summer season comes to an end and the markets enter a busy period, growth data, inflation figures, the Central Bank's interest rate decision, and the updated Medium-Term Program will be closely monitored in September.

Second-quarter growth data is awaited

The markets will keep their eyes on the second-quarter growth data to be announced on Monday, August 31.

For the April-June GDP figures to be announced by TURKSTAT at 10:00 AM, economists are forecasting a 2.80 percent increase on an annual basis.

Foreign trade and inflation figures will be announced

Provisional foreign trade data for August, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and TIM, is planned to be announced to the public on Thursday, September 3.

On the same day, August inflation figures will be announced by TURKSTAT at 10:00 AM, and the effects of the disinflation process will be evaluated.

Central Bank interest rate decision and balance of payments

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey will convene on September 10 to announce its interest rate decision.

The Central Bank will also share the balance of payments data for July with the public on September 11.

Details of the Medium-Term Program are becoming clear

Alongside macroeconomic indicators, the details of the Medium-Term Program, which outlines the three-year roadmap of the Turkish economy, will be monitored.

The updated Medium-Term Program is expected to be shared with the public in the first week of September.
