Iran-China Chamber of Commerce President Hariri stated that the new economic pressures and sanctions imposed by the US aim to create a rift between society and the government, expressing that the Washington administration has failed in its past strategies.

Economic Pressures and Objectives

Making evaluations to an Iran-based news site, Iran-China Chamber of Commerce President Hariri discussed the conflict processes and economic sanctions experienced with the US.

Hariri emphasized that the applied economic pressures directly make the people's living conditions difficult, and this situation should not damage the trust between society and the administration.

Sanction Policies from Past to Present

Stating that the Washington administration has harmed the Iranian economy with the sanctions it has maintained for about 15 to 16 years, Hariri noted, however, that the goals of overthrowing the regime or changing the political course have not been achieved.

Hariri said that the US first applied economic sanctions, then resorted to military options, and failing to reach its goals in these stages, it focused on the economy again.

New Siege and Social Dynamics

Stating that the US has re-emerged with a new form of siege and sanctions, Hariri conveyed that in this new phase, it is aimed to increase the livelihood difficulties of the public and pit the administration and the public against each other.

In addition, Hariri warned that the headscarf issue should not be turned into a new area of conflict within the country.

Country Potential Against Cuba Comparison

Rejecting the comparison of Iran with Cuba, the Iran-China Chamber of Commerce President recalled his country's vast lands, numerous neighbors, economic partners, and agricultural production capacity.

Hariri argued that thanks to these structural advantages, the country has a different geopolitical and economic position.
