Global e-commerce gathering to be held in Istanbul

The global e-commerce summit, implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Trade and in cooperation with TIM and ETID, will bring together leading names of the sector on September 3-5.

The second global e-commerce summit, organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade and in cooperation with the Turkish Exporters Assembly and the Electronic Commerce Operators Association, will bring international marketplaces and industry representatives together in Istanbul.

Summit Introductory Meeting

The introductory meeting of the summit, which will bring together global e-commerce platforms, was held at the TIM Foreign Trade Complex. Senior executives from the Ministry of Trade and related institutions attended the meeting.

Ministry officials, TIM deputy chairmen, and the general secretary of ETID were present at the press conference and shared the details of the organization with the public.

Dates and Past Data

It was officially announced that the second edition of the summit will be held on September 3-5, and it was emphasized that the organization will host sectoral meetings.

It was conveyed to the participants at the meeting that an employment and transaction volume of over 1 billion dollars was generated during the first summit held last year in 2024.

Market Share and Participants

It was reported that a total of 50 marketplaces from different regions of the world will participate in this year's organization and 28 panels will be held throughout the event.

It was announced that the total share in global trade of the 50 marketplaces that will attend the summit is at the level of approximately 2.75 trillion dollars.

Goals and Supports

At the meeting, e-export supports, special facilities provided to SMEs, and strategic steps towards the future of the sector were also comprehensively discussed.

It was shared with the public at the meeting that Turkey's e-export target for this year has been set at 6 billion dollars.
