Istanbul Generated Over 800 Million Dollars in Revenue from Congress Tourism
International congresses and events held in Istanbul have continued to provide a major economic contribution to the city in recent years.
Şekib Avdagiç, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau, announced that congresses held since 2022 have provided over 800 million dollars in foreign exchange revenue to Istanbul's economy.

Data for the First Eight Months of the Year
It was announced that a total of 67 congresses were held in the city during the first eight months of the year, with approximately 30,000 people attending these events. Revenue generated from accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, and food and beverage expenditures reached 120 million dollars.
Autumn Season Expectations
With the autumn months bringing an increase in congress activity, the number of congress tourists is expected to rise further by the end of the year. Authorities anticipate that this increase will trigger sectoral mobility.
Developments Since 2022
Hosting up to 500 congresses since 2022, Istanbul has welcomed approximately 200,000 congress tourists. As a result of these visits, a foreign exchange influx exceeding 800 million dollars was provided to the city's economy.
