The 2025 Konya Economy Report, prepared by the Konya Chamber of Commerce, shared a wide range of data with the public, from the city's foreign trade volume to its agricultural capacity, energy potential, and educational infrastructure.

Foreign Trade Volume Increased

Konya's foreign trade volume, which was 2.6 billion dollars in 2018, rose to approximately 5 billion dollars in 2025.

The city realized 3.36 billion dollars in exports and 1.62 billion dollars in imports in 2025, resulting in a foreign trade surplus of 1.74 billion dollars.

Industry and Employment Data

As of 2025, 12 organized industrial zones and 150 industrial sites are operating in the city.

Approximately 228,000 people are employed in 28,529 workplaces within these areas, and the manufacturing industry holds a 96.8 percent share in exports.

Agriculture and Certified Seed Production

Due to drought and decreasing rainfall, crop production declined by 15.8 percent in 2025.

Despite this, Konya achieved a production of 371,463 tons, accounting for 27.5 percent of Turkey's total certified seed production.

Turkey's Leader in Solar Energy

Konya's unlicensed electricity generation capacity exceeded the 1,544 megawatts threshold in 2025.

Solar energy constituted 99.06 percent of this capacity, and the city ranked first in Turkey in this field.

Population and Educational Infrastructure

Konya's population reached 2,343,409 people in 2025, making the city Turkey's 6th most populous province.

With 67,848 undergraduate students in the city, Konya ranked as Turkey's 4th province in higher education.
