Scope of Frost Coverage Expanded in State-Supported Agricultural Insurance
With the new regulation in agricultural insurance, the variety of products guaranteed against the risk of frost has been increased and insurance conditions have been renewed.
By expanding the scope of state-supported agricultural insurance, 16 new products have been included in the insurance coverage against the risk of frost starting from 2027, raising the total product variety to twenty-five.
New Products Added to Frost Coverage
According to the new period announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, starting from 2027, 16 more products were included in the insurance coverage against the risk of frost, increasing the total number of products from 9 to 25.
Agricultural products such as walnuts, dates, bananas, pomegranates, figs, kiwis, jujubes, and loquats were also among the varieties included in this guarantee scope.
Drought and Yield Loss Models
With the new regulation, it was decided to provide protection to producers against frost events occurring before the insurance coverage period begins.
In yield losses caused by drought, the insurance model that is based directly on the yield loss in the farmer's own field, rather than the average of the village where the field is located, will be expanded.
Livestock and Beekeeping Supports
In the bovine livestock sector, breeders will be able to insure their calves from the very first day they are born, upon their request.
In beekeeping activities, the beehive value was raised from 5,500 liras to 6,500 liras, protecting the interests of the producers.
Greenhouse Discounts and Special Rights
It was announced that a five percent discount on insurance premiums will begin to be applied in modernized greenhouses.
It was ensured that relatives of veterans can also benefit from the existing premium discounts provided to relatives of martyrs and veterans.
