Sectoral Inflation Expectations for August 2026 Announced

According to August data released by the Central Bank, market participants' annual inflation expectation declined, while the estimates of citizens and companies trended upward.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey shared the Sectoral Inflation Expectations data for the August 2026 period with the public. According to the new data, different trends were observed in the inflation forecasts of various groups for the upcoming period.

Market Participants' Expectations Declined

According to the assessments made in August, the 12-month-ahead annual inflation expectation decreased among market participants.

This group's inflation expectation showed a decrease of 0.26 percentage points compared to the previous month, falling to 23.69 percent.

Increases in Households and Real Sector

Contrary to market participants, inflation expectations for the upcoming period increased among households and real sector representatives.

The 12-month-ahead inflation expectation of households increased by 0.64 percentage points to 45.58 percent, while the expectation of the real sector rose by 0.30 percentage points to 32.80 percent.

Ratio of Those Expecting Inflation to Fall

The proportion of households predicting that inflation will decline in the next 12-month period also registered a decrease.

The proportion of households expecting inflation to fall decreased by 0.78 percentage points compared to the previous month, realizing at 16.85 percent.
