Support plan for 2.5 million households with the Complementary Income Family Support System
Pilot applications for the new social assistance model, which aims to supplement the income of needy families, are projected to begin by the end of 2026.
In the draft study prepared for the citizenship salary known as the Complementary Income Family Support System, it is targeted to provide a total of 1.5 trillion TL in support to 2.5 million households.
Scope of Support and Objectives
The scope is beginning to clarify in the draft studies carried out for the Complementary Income Family Support System announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to the prepared planning, it is foreseen to reach a total of 2.5 million households in the first stage and provide a total of 1.5 trillion TL in support to these households.
Application and Income Requirement
To benefit from the new social assistance model, the total income entering the household must remain below a certain limit.
According to the draft study, to benefit from the support, it is required that the household income is below the lowest retirement pension of 23,552 TL.
Graduated Payment Model
Instead of paying a fixed amount to everyone in the citizenship salary, a graduated model based on the needs of households is being worked on.
While the new system encompasses different items such as housing, rent, food, child, and subscription bill support, it is also planned to issue a special citizenship salary card.
Implementation Schedule
According to the draft schedule, it is targeted to determine the pilot provinces where the application will be carried out by December 2026.
Following the determination of the pilot provinces, the first payments within the scope of the system are planned to be implemented in the first quarter of 2027.
