The Pioneering Role of Universities in Mastering Innovation and Technology

The Prime Minister has approved a strategic project envisioning a group of 12 universities that will play a pioneering role in higher education in the capital and guide the country's innovation and mastery of technology.

Purpose and Scope of the Project

The approval of the project to select 12 universities to elevate higher education in the capital to the top ranks in Asia paves the way for a strategic transformation.

The project aims to transform major educational institutions into core engines driving the country's innovation, mastery of technology, and socio-economic development.

2030 Targets

Specific targets set for 2030 include 100% of the universities in the region meeting the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Additionally, at least 12 universities are targeted to play a central role in talent training, research, policy consulting, and innovation, with at least 2 universities ranking among Asia's top 150 universities.

The 12 Selected Institutions

The list of 12 institutions authorized with this mission includes both public and private universities and colleges.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi Medical University, University of Transport and Communications, and other public and private representatives are included in this list.

Academic and Educational Goals

The project also aims for at least 45% of faculty members to hold a doctorate degree and for the attraction of 600 international experts.

In addition, planning for at least 40% of students to study in STEM fields is among the targeted objectives.
