The Ministry of Trade announced that as of July 2026, the annualized total trade volume with member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States reached $27.8 billion. In the statement made by the ministry, it was stated that economic and commercial relations continue to be developed with a common history, cultural ties, and a spirit of strategic cooperation.
Member and Observer Countries
Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan are among the member countries of the organization. Turkmenistan, Hungary, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus hold observer status in the organization.
Growth Trend Over the Years
While Turkey's foreign trade volume with OTS member countries was at the level of $871 million in 2002, it increased approximately 20-fold by the end of 2025, reaching $16.9 billion. This strong momentum shows that economic relations have grown exponentially in recent years.
Countries with the Most Trade in 2025
Last year, the country with which the most trade was conducted among OTS countries was Kazakhstan with $7.8 billion. Kazakhstan was followed by Azerbaijan with $4.3 billion, Uzbekistan with $3.1 billion, and Kyrgyzstan with $1.6 billion, respectively.
Course of Trade in the First Seven Months of 2026
In the January-July period, Turkey's foreign trade volume with OTS member countries increased by 6.6 percent compared to the same period of last year, rising to $10.1 billion. Meanwhile, the total trade volume with observer countries increased by 5.1 percent in the same period, reaching the level of $6.1 billion.
Importance of the Middle Corridor
The statement also emphasized that the strategic opportunities offered by the Middle Corridor present a tremendously important potential in terms of the economic integration of the Turkic world.
