To strengthen its competition with rivals, Anthropic has entered into a new six-year computer processing power leasing agreement worth $45 billion with British AI infrastructure company Nscale.
Details of the Massive Deal
AI startup Anthropic has agreed to lease AI processing power from British infrastructure company Nscale for a period of six years, valued at approximately $45 billion.
According to a source close to the matter, this massive capacity is expected to go live in late 2027 to support Anthropic's AI services.
Nvidia Vera Rubin Chips
Founded in 2024 and having previously established partnerships with giants like Microsoft, Nscale will provide Anthropic with the necessary processing power using Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin chips.
Bringing together six different chips, the Vera Rubin system is considered the latest and most advanced technology in chip design within the industry.
West Virginia Data Center
First reported by Bloomberg, the operations for the six-year agreement will be conducted out of Nscale's flagship data center in the state of West Virginia.
Intensive Processing Power Investments
Aimed at increasing its competition with other market players, particularly OpenAI, Anthropic has aggressively expanded its processing capacity over the past eight months.
During this process, the company continuously strengthened its infrastructure through various partnerships and large-scale agreements with entities such as Volta, AMD, SpaceX, Amazon, Google, and Broadcom.
