Country music duo Big & Rich released their new song and music video titled 'Hello AI' to react against the increasing use of artificial intelligence in music production and its impact on songwriters.

AI Threatens the Music Industry

Speaking to Billboard, Big Kenny stated that artificial intelligence is not real, emphasizing that the technology has gotten out of control.

The other member of the duo, John Rich, described artificial intelligence as a major threat to American songwriters. Rich stated that AI systems plagiarize original works without attributing them to their original creators and generate derivative tracks.

Theme of the Music Video and Platform Data

In the song's music video, the duo is seen writing lyrics with pen and paper and performing in front of the sound evolution exhibit at the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville. Big Kenny stated that AI-generated content relies on works used without permission.

According to data from streaming service Deezer, fully AI-generated tracks account for 44% of daily uploads, which amounts to more than 2 million songs per month. Following the track previously announced on social media, the duo will perform concerts in Ohio and North Carolina.
