Decline in CBRT gross reserves: Lowest level in a year

Central Bank gross reserves fell to their lowest level in a year due to the decline experienced in the second week of June.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's gross foreign exchange reserves recorded a significant drop in the week ending June 12, falling to their lowest level in a year.

Decline in Gross Reserves

According to data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, gross reserves dropped by 7.3 billion dollars in the week of June 12.

With this decline, total gross reserves fell to 152.1 billion dollars, recording the lowest level since June 2025.

Losses Since January

Gross reserves had managed to test levels above 218 billion dollars in the first month of the year.

In the period from January to the week of June 12, a total loss of 66.1 billion dollars was experienced in gross reserves.

Status of Net and Swap-Excluded Reserves

In the specified week, net reserves also decreased by 1.8 billion dollars to the level of 45.1 billion dollars.

During the same period, net reserves excluding swaps showed a more limited decline, dropping from 29.4 billion dollars to 29.1 billion dollars.
