Internationally Wanted Criminals Extradited to Turkey
As a result of the joint efforts of security and justice units, wanted individuals captured in various countries were transferred to our country.
According to the statement made by the Ministry of Interior, a total of 60 criminals, including 16 individuals sought internationally with a red notice and 44 individuals sought at the national level, have been extradited to Turkey.
Coordinated Operations Were Organized
The General Directorate of Security Interpol-Europol Department and officials from the Ministry of Justice conducted a joint study.
The Departments of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), Intelligence, Narcotics, Cyber Crimes, Public Order, and Counter-Terrorism (TEM) provided active support to the operations.
International Cooperation Was Established
Steps were taken by contacting the law enforcement agencies of relevant countries for individuals who fled abroad and had arrest warrants issued against them.
As a result of the diplomatic and security cooperation carried out, the extradition processes of the wanted individuals were successfully completed.
They Were Captured in Various Countries
Security forces captured 43 individuals in Georgia, 5 in Greece, and 2 each in Germany and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, one person each was apprehended in Bulgaria, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Armenia, Switzerland, Romania, and Russia.
They Were Wanted for Various Crimes
The individuals brought to Turkey have records for crimes such as intentional homicide, robbery, and drug trafficking.
It was also determined that they were wanted for fraud, theft, and membership in an armed terrorist organization.
