The company behind the popular AI image generator Stable Diffusion has brought its total funding to 232 million dollars with the participation of music and gaming giants.
Stability AI, the developer of the Stable Diffusion model, has secured 76 million dollars in Series B funding from investors including major entertainment industry giants such as Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Electronic Arts.

The 76 million dollar Series B funding round announced by Stability AI brings the total amount of funding the company has raised to date to 232 million dollars.
Organizations participating in the investment round included Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group, and gaming giant Electronic Arts. Additionally, AMD Ventures and Pacific Alliance Ventures were among the investors.
Future Plans and Use Cases
Stability AI Chief Executive Officer Prem Akkaraju described the new investment as a validation of the company's vision of empowering all producers, musicians, and storytellers with generative artificial intelligence.
The company plans to use the new capital to continue developing its suite of creative production products and to expand its professional services arm.
Sector Partnerships and Legal Processes
Founded in 2019, the company has signed various partnership agreements over the past year to integrate generative artificial intelligence into the creative workflows of entertainment companies.
On the other hand, while the company has been largely vindicated in the UK in copyright lawsuits brought by Getty Images, a similar lawsuit process in the US is still ongoing.
