Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, speaking at the Belgian Economic Mission Seminar, emphasized the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Belgium in the fields of trade, transportation, and technology, and discussed major projects that have been implemented.

Deep-Rooted Relations with Belgium and Panel Details

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu was a guest at the Belgian Economic Mission Seminar held with the participation of Queen Mathilde of Belgium.

Speaking at the critical infrastructure panel organized within the scope of the seminar, Uraloğlu stated that relations between the two countries are based on a deep-rooted history.

Strategic Position and Investments in the Field of Transportation

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that massive investments have been realized in the field of transportation over the past twenty-three years and that Turkey serves as a vital hub.

It was explained that Turkey possesses a strategic location that provides easy access to numerous countries within a four-hour flight distance.

Critical Railway and Infrastructure Projects

Railway projects such as the Middle Corridor, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line, Marmaray, and the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge were discussed in detail at the meeting.

While providing information regarding the Development Road Project carried out by the Ministry, it was stated that greater investments need to be made in railways.

Consensus on Developing Cooperation

As a result of the high-level meeting, a mutual consensus was reached to develop relations, particularly in the maritime and railway sectors.

It is aimed to deepen the cooperation established between the two countries in the fields of trade, defense, and technology in the upcoming period.
