Turkey has published an official message of condolence due to the flood disaster and landslides that were effective in the border region of Nepal and China and led to large-scale loss of life.

Loss of Life in the Disaster Region

Profound sadness was shared with the public over the loss of life resulting from the flood disaster and landslide that occurred today in the border region of Nepal and China.

It was reported that according to initial determinations in the disaster that took place in Rasuwa and its surrounding areas, 157 people lost their lives and residential areas were damaged.

Turkey's Message of Condolence

In a written statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condolences were extended to the relatives of those who lost their lives and to the affected countries, primarily Nepal and China.

It was emphasized that no information has been reached so far indicating that Turkish citizens were affected by the disaster, and the process is being closely monitored.

Search and Rescue Operations

While search and rescue operations continue uninterrupted in the region, it was noted that hundreds of people have still not been accounted for following the disaster.

Impacts on the Chinese Side

The flood disaster in Nepal also caused large-scale landslides in Gyirong County, under the administration of Xigaze city in China's bordering Tibet Autonomous Region. It was stated that 3 people lost their lives and 268 people remain missing in the incidents on the Chinese side.
