President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. Examining youth projects during his visit to the festival, Erdoğan shared the judicial process regarding the mining accident in Soma and Turkey's growth figures in the defense industry.

TEKNOFEST Southeast Event

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited the venue of the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. It was stated that holding the festival in Şanlıurfa carries great importance.

It was announced that the organization was held with applications from more than 730,000 teams and over 1.6 million contestants from 81 provinces and 97 countries. It was noted that the number of visitors approached 1 million.

Soma Mining Accident Investigation

Touching upon the mining accident in the Soma district of Manisa during his speech, President Erdoğan wished God's mercy upon the 5 miners who lost their lives in the accident and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

It was reported that administrative and judicial investigations regarding the accident were launched without wasting time. It was emphasized that a total of 9 people, including business officials, were detained and those who were negligent will be held accountable.

Export Success in the Defense Industry

It was stated that Turkey has come to a very important position in the defense industry and has a say in the world. It was recorded that the country has risen to become the 11th largest country in the world in defense exports.

Information was shared with the public that defense industry exports covering the period between January and August reached a total of 6.3 billion dollars.
