Conducted online by YouGov at the request of a sociologist, the survey was carried out between July 30 and August 4, 2026, with the participation of 1,250 American workers.

Job Loss and New Opportunities

Over the four-year period since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, artificial intelligence has not created massive job losses. While only 3 percent of survey participants stated they lost their jobs due to artificial intelligence, 95 percent reported experiencing no such loss.

According to the study, 6 percent of participants said they found a new AI-focused job that did not exist before, while 9 percent stated they achieved a promotion or career advancement thanks to artificial intelligence.

Expert Evaluations

Experts emphasize that these results are consistent with other findings indicating that artificial intelligence does not yet have a widespread impact on the labor market.

Researchers warn that current surveys provide a snapshot in time and that potential future technological developments could alter these dynamics.
