Comprehensive School Health Program Launched for Students in Hanoi
Under the new plan implemented in Hanoi, it is aimed for all students to have electronic health records and undergo regular check-ups through digital transformation-oriented school health services.
Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee, signed and put into effect the Implementation Plan for the School Health Program for the 2026-2035 period, which aims to provide comprehensive physical and mental care to students in the capital.
Digital Transformation and Health Records
Under the new program, it is aimed for all students in Hanoi to have electronic health records and undergo regular health check-ups at least once during the academic year. This data will be regularly updated by synchronizing with the Electronic Health Record and other relevant databases.
School Infrastructure and Staffing Targets
According to the plan, there will be an official responsible for school health services in all educational institutions, and specialized health personnel will be assigned to at least 60 percent of public kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools. In addition, a separate health room equipped adequately for basic health services will be established in all schools.
Access to clean and standard-compliant drinking water and adequate toilet facilities will be provided in educational institutions. In these arrangements, priority will be given particularly to the accessibility of students with disabilities.
Early Diagnosis and Nutrition Standards
In preschool educational institutions, children's physical, motor, language, and psychological development will be closely monitored. Proactive cooperation will be established with families and healthcare institutions for the early detection of risks such as malnutrition, obesity, or developmental disorders.
In boarding schools, strict compliance with age-appropriate nutrition standards will be mandatory. In addition, educational and communication activities will be organized for students on topics such as drug addiction, mental health, and injury prevention.
Long-Term Cooperation and Sustainability
The Hanoi administration aims to preserve the achievements made in the 2030-2035 period and improve the school health management system using secure digital data. In this process, cooperation models among municipalities, schools, families, and healthcare institutions will be further expanded.
