Gaziantep Becomes the Second Clinical Center
The second clinical application center for the device, which was developed by ASELSAN and whose first clinical application was carried out at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, became GAÜN Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital.
Successful Surgeries Performed
In one of the surgeries performed within the scope of the clinical study, a triple bypass was applied to the patient, while in another, the heart valve was replaced using a minimally invasive method.
It was stated that the device, which temporarily takes over the functions of the heart and lungs during open-heart surgeries, was used successfully in the operations performed.
Hospital Visit by Rector Doğan
GAÜN Rector Prof. Dr. Sait Mesut Doğan visited the operated patients and received information about their health status from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan, Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at GAÜN Faculty of Medicine.
