The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that due to Israeli restrictions, the evacuation of 21,000 patients and injured individuals who need to receive treatment abroad will take 8 years under the current mechanism, which amounts to a slow death sentence for thousands.
Delay in the Evacuation Process
In an urgent written statement, the Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that even if no new cases are added to the list, transferring the registered 21,000 patients and injured individuals abroad will take at least 4 years in the first stage.
Duration Extending to Eight Years
It was emphasized that along with those injured in Israeli attacks and new cases added to the list every month due to restrictions, an additional 4 years are needed for the evacuation process, bringing the total duration to approximately 8 years.
Life-Threatening Danger and Reactions
Stating that such long periods pose a huge risk for patients, it was expressed that this picture means a direct slow death sentence for thousands of people whose bodies cannot endure the wait.
Call to the International Community
Holding Israel entirely responsible for this situation, the statement called on the United Nations and international human rights organizations to demand the complete opening of the border crossings.
