Across Hanoi, more than 2.2 million children and students, starting from preschool age, have begun undergoing free routine health check-ups ahead of the new school year. This massive social welfare program aims to achieve early detection of health issues and introduce a proactive approach to life-cycle health management.
Scope of the Free Health Screening
Starting from August 18, over 2.2 million children and students in Hanoi are undergoing free routine health check-ups prior to the new school year. This initiative helps to early detect health issues while bringing a proactive approach to life-cycle health management.
Early Diagnosis and Development Tracking
Dr. Tran Van Ha from Tam Anh General Hospital stated that regular health check-ups help monitor children's physical and mental development. Issues such as birth defects, developmental delays, nutritional disorders, and obesity are detected early to ensure timely intervention.
Post-Examination Intervention Chain
The processes of examination, detection, intervention, and monitoring form an interconnected chain. Experts and parents emphasize that after abnormalities are identified, families must be guided properly, and results must be systematically stored and followed up.
Investment in the Future Workforce
In line with the Politburo's decisions, starting from 2026, individuals are projected to undergo free periodic health screenings at least once a year and have electronic health records established. This step aims to improve population quality.
Integration of Education and Health
Dr. Vu Viet Anh, General Director of Thanh Cong Academy, stated that student health is a vital component of human capital. Investing in health early enhances children's learning potential and supports the country's future competitiveness.
