Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu announced that home healthcare services have been restructured and medical reports for individuals over 80 are now being issued at their homes.

Restructuring of Home Healthcare Services

Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu announced that a new system has been established to enable elderly and bedridden individuals to access healthcare without having to visit a hospital. Home healthcare services have been restructured to operate in coordination with telehealth services, palliative care, and family medicine.

Home Healthcare Coordination Centers and Palliative Care

Home healthcare coordination centers were established to ensure the coordination of the systems. Critical palliative care areas were created for patients whose intensive care treatment is completed but who remain dependent on life support equipment, increasing the total palliative care bed capacity across Turkey to 8,618.

Home Reporting Opportunity for Citizens Over 80

To enable elderly individuals to access healthcare services without going to the hospital, medical, supply, and disability health reports for persons over 80 have started to be issued at their homes. This practice has streamlined patients' processes within the home environment.

Expansion of Family Physicians' Authorities

The prescribing and reporting authorities of family physicians were expanded, and an additional 1,859 medications were made eligible to be prescribed by family physicians. Furthermore, patients discharged to their homes are being monitored remotely via electronic systems.

Preparation for Direct Pharmacy Access for Prescribed Medication Reports

A joint study is being conducted with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security to facilitate patients using prescribed medications with reports in accessing their drugs. Within this scope, it is planned that after the doctor's initial prescription, the patient will be able to obtain the medication directly from the pharmacy throughout the duration of the report.
