A new regulation is being worked on that will eliminate the obligation for patients using prescribed medicines with medical reports to visit a doctor every month just to get a prescription. Carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, this study aims to facilitate access to medicines for chronic patients and elderly citizens.

Direct Procurement from the Pharmacy with the New System

Within the scope of the planned new regulation, once patients obtain a medical report and receive their first prescription, they will not be obliged to go to the doctor again as long as there is no change in their drug treatment.

As long as the drug report remains valid, it will be ensured that the relevant medicines are delivered directly from pharmacies in monthly doses, and the burden of making hospital appointments for patients during this process will be reduced.

Joint Work of the Ministries

Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu stated that they are working in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security to bring this innovation to life.

Following the completion of ongoing joint studies, the new system is planned to be made available to citizens in the very near future.

Convenience for Chronic Patients and the Elderly

Among the main objectives of the regulation is to minimize the bureaucratic steps in the process of accessing medicines for citizens who have to use medicines continuously due to chronic illnesses.

It is aimed that patients, especially in the elderly group, can benefit from health services and easily obtain their medicines without having to come to the hospital environment.
