New School Year Plan Approved for School Health and Digital Nutrition Management in Hanoi
The initiative, which aims for all students in educational institutions in the capital to undergo health checks, intends to improve food safety, strengthen first aid facilities, and prevent infectious diseases.
Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha has approved the school health and digital nutrition tracking plan to be implemented in all schools across the city during the 2026-2027 school year. Under the plan, students' physical development data will be transferred to the HanoiCheck system.
Digital Tracking and Nutrition Management
Under the new plan, boarding schools are required to record students' physical fitness data in HanoiCheck, the Hanoi City School Nutrition and Food Safety Database System.
Thanks to this digital infrastructure, students' physical development can be closely monitored, science-based nutritional recommendations will be provided, and menu adjustments suitable for age groups can be made.
Regular Health Checks and Infrastructure Regulations
It is planned that all students will undergo health screenings at the beginning of the school year, and height and weight measurements will be repeated five times throughout the year to assess their nutritional status.
While the goal is to establish fully equipped first aid rooms in schools and assign medically trained staff, teachers and school employees are also required to undergo health checks at least once a year.
Food Safety and Disease Prevention Measures
The origin of raw materials supplied to school cafeterias and canteens will be strictly inspected, and the HanoiCheck software will be utilized to prevent food poisoning incidents.
Additionally, awareness campaigns will be conducted to complete missing vaccinations, detect infectious disease outbreaks early, and prevent conditions such as myopia, scoliosis, and obesity.
