Prescription requirement is being lifted for prescribed medications with unchanged treatments

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu announced that they are working on a new system to enable users of prescribed medications whose treatments remain unchanged to obtain their medicines directly from the pharmacy without having to visit a doctor every three months for a new prescription.

New System for Prescribed Medications

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu stated that a new study, conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, is in the preparation stage.

Within this scope, it is aimed that patients will be able to obtain their medications directly from the pharmacy throughout the validity period of their medical report without having to visit a doctor every month.

Restructuring in Home Health Services

Home health services have been restructured to work in coordination with telehealth, palliative services, and family medicine.

The established home health coordination centers closely monitor the patients' conditions through a software infrastructure.

Palliative Critical Care Areas

Palliative critical care areas have been designated for patients who have completed intensive care treatment but live dependent on life support machines.

With 747 palliative critical care beds across Turkey, the total capacity reached 8,618, allowing family members to visit.

Home Health Reports for Those Over 80

Medical, supply, and disabled health report procedures for citizens over the age of eighty have started to be processed in their homes.

The prescription-writing and report-issuing authorities of family physicians were expanded, enabling them to prescribe an additional 1,859 medications.

Emphasis on Preventive Health Services

Minister Memişoğlu emphasized that health services should not focus solely on treating diseases and that preventive health measures should be increased.

Citizens were urged to consult family physicians and Healthy Life Centers to seek healthy living support before falling ill.
