Competing in the women's 46 kg category at the Turkish Under-21 Taekwondo Championship held in the province of Ordu, Mersin athlete Ayşe Orhan finished the tournament in second place and won the silver medal.

The Turkish Under-21 Taekwondo Championship, organized by the Turkish Taekwondo Federation at the Ordu Başpehlivan Recep Kara Sports Hall, has concluded. A total of 528 athletes from 299 clubs across 52 provinces participated in the massive organization held between October 3 and 5, 2026.

Representing Mersin in the women's 46 kg category at the championship, Ayşe Orhan drew attention with her successful performance. Advancing to the final as a result of challenging matches, the young athlete secured second place in Turkey after the final bout and became the owner of the silver medal.

Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Göksun Öz stated that Ayşe Orhan's second-place finish in Turkey is a source of pride for Mersin. Öz noted that the degrees won by young athletes at the national level make them extremely happy.
