Age Limit of 15 and Special Services
Social network providers will not be able to offer services to children under the age of 15, and account opening requests will not be accepted.
In services to be offered to children who have reached the age of 15, their developmental needs and best interests will be observed.
Age Verification via e-Government
Age verification processes will be carried out through the e-Government Gateway via an age verification token.
Based on the protection of personal data, instead of identity determination, only whether the age limit is met will be checked.
Privacy Rules for Children's Accounts
High-level privacy settings will be applied by default to the accounts of children who have reached the age of 15.
Children's accounts will be kept private, and they will not be allowed to broadcast live or see personalized ads.
Parental Control Tools and Process
Social network providers will be required to offer parents tools that provide the ability to perform account and time control.
Age verification procedures for existing accounts must be completed by March 31, 2027.
