The Parliamentary Commission on School Attacks will hold its 9th meeting on Tuesday to investigate the incidents in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş.

The 9th Meeting of the Commission

As the Parliamentary Commission on School Attacks approaches the final stages of its work, it will hold its 9th meeting on Tuesday with the aim of investigating the incidents in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş.

Officials from the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Interior will attend the commission to brief members of parliament and convey the measures taken to prevent new incidents.

Security and Educational Measures

At the meeting, both the measures taken to increase school security will be addressed and the steps to be taken to ensure that educational and training activities are not negatively affected during this process will be evaluated.

Social Media Representatives Will Make Presentations

Another important session of the commission during the week will take place with the participation of digital media platforms, where representatives of X, Google, Meta, and TikTok will provide information at parliament.

The representatives will explain the measures they take against risks in the internet environment for children and share potential efforts to protect youth from negative content with the members of parliament.

Field Studies and Visits

Having held a total of 8 meetings so far, commission members conducted field studies twice in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş as part of their investigations.

The delegation visited the graves of the deceased teacher and students, came together with their families, and met with governorships, school administrations, academics, and non-governmental organizations.
