The International Olympic Committee has shared the timeline for the 2036 Olympics process, in which Turkey is competing for host candidacy.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has officially announced the timeline for the 2036 Olympic Games candidacy process, which includes Turkey.
Countries Competing for Hosting
According to the statement made by the International Olympic Committee, the countries wanting to host the 2036 Olympic Games have been determined.
Alongside Turkey, Germany, Hungary, India, Qatar, South Korea, and South Africa are among the other countries included in the process.
Candidacy Application Process and Timeline
In this process where no new candidates will be accepted after October 31, the projects of the candidate cities will be presented to the commission in November.
The IOC Executive Board will announce the candidate cities remaining on the shortlist to the public in March 2027.
Critical Decision Date and Evaluations
During the strategic dialogue phase, legal and financial guarantees will be provided for candidate cities, and site visits will be conducted by the commission.
The city that will host the organization will be finalized at the International Olympic Committee session to be held in mid-2029.
