Amateur Sports Clubs Federations of Thrace Meet in Edirne

A comprehensive consultation meeting was held in Edirne aimed at developing amateur sports in the Thrace region and producing joint solutions to the challenges faced by clubs.

Joint Meeting in Thrace

The presidents of the Amateur Sports Clubs Federations of Edirne, Çanakkale, Tekirdağ, and Kırklareli came together around the meeting table in Edirne to evaluate the future of amateur sports in the region.

During the discussions, the amateur sports structuring of the four provinces and the activities of the clubs were addressed comprehensively, and demands coming from the field were shared.

Economic Burdens and Transportation

Among the prominent topics of the meeting were the increasing economic burdens and financial difficulties faced by amateur clubs.

While it was stated that clubs are having difficulty sustaining their activities due to rising expenses, the transportation of athletes to competitions and away-game costs were also brought to the agenda.

Facility and Support Needs

The condition of existing sports facilities, the need for new fields, and the issue of increasing the sports areas that clubs can use were evaluated.

It was stated that increasing the support given to clubs and athletes is important for the sustainability of sports activities and for bringing youth into sports.

Ankara Elections and Cooperation

The elections of the Turkish Amateur Sports Clubs Confederation, planned to be held in Ankara in October, were also among the main agenda items of the meeting.

The ASKF presidents emphasized that the expectations of the Thrace region should be voiced with a shared understanding and that the provinces of the region must act together.
