Arda Turan Arrived in Istanbul for the National Team Head Coach Offer
The 39-year-old coach, who arrived in the city by private jet to discuss the federation's dual-role formula, will make his decision after evaluating with his club and family.
Shakhtar Donetsk manager Arda Turan has arrived in Istanbul by private jet to evaluate the Turkish Football Federation's offer for the position of head coach of the National Team. A dual-role formula was put on the table between the parties.
Arrival in Istanbul and First Contact
The 39-year-old manager at the helm of Shakhtar Donetsk, Arda Turan, arrived in Turkey on Saturday following the match he played on Friday.
Meeting with his family, the young coach put the official offer conveyed to him by the Turkish Football Federation on the table and began evaluating it.
TFF's Decision and Authorization
The TFF Board of Directors had unanimously decided to grant full authorization to President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu to take an official offer to Arda Turan.
It was reported that among the Turkish managerial candidates, only Arda Turan's name was mentioned in the meeting and the process was handled accordingly.
Dual-Role Formula on the Table
In response to the young manager's sensitivity about not leaving his club halfway during a wartime period in the initial contact, the federation presented a new proposal.
It was conveyed that TFF officials presented Turan with a dual-role formula suggesting he could manage both Shakhtar Donetsk and the national team simultaneously.
Upcoming Process and Other Candidates
It is stated that the manager, whose contract ends on June 30, 2027, will hold talks with the club management to evaluate this option.
It was expressed that if Arda Turan gives a negative response, the federation plans to turn to foreign managerial alternatives.
