Besiktas Advances Despite Away Defeat to Kauno Zalgiris
Defeated in the return leg against the Lithuanian side, the black-and-whites secured their ticket to the UEFA Europa League with the advantage from the first match.
Besiktas was defeated 1-0 away by Kauno Zalgiris in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off qualifying round. Having won the first match 3-0, our representative booked its place in the league stage of the tournament with a 3-1 aggregate advantage.

In the second leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off qualifying round, our representative Besiktas was the guest of Lithuanian side Kauno Zalgiris. The black-and-white team took to the pitch to protect the score advantage they gained in the first match.
The Only Goal of the Match
While the first half of the match ended in a scoreless draw, the home team took the lead in the second half. Following a mistake in the 64th minute of the match, Renan Oliveira found the ball in front of him and scored the goal that put his team ahead 1-0.
Aggregate Score Advantage
Having won the first match played in Istanbul 3-0, the black-and-whites became the side to pass the round despite the 1-0 away defeat. Besiktas established a 3-1 superiority over their opponent on aggregate.
Return to Europe
