One of the injured individuals who was hospitalized due to smoke inhalation from a fire in the sauna section of a private gym in Batman has died, bringing the death toll to three as the investigation into the incident continues.
Origin of the Fire and Intervention Efforts
A fire broke out yesterday evening for reasons yet unknown in the sauna section of a private gym located in Batman's Gültepe neighborhood.
Upon reports from bystanders, numerous fire, AFAD, UMKE, and police teams were dispatched to the scene to intervene against the flames.
Governorship Statement and Hospitalized Individuals
In a statement made by the Batman Governorship, it was reported that the fire was assessed to have broken out in the sauna section of a private gym.
A total of 12 citizens who were affected by smoke during the incident were transferred to hospitals and taken under treatment.
Death Toll Rises to Three
Among the injured who were taken to the hospital, Şaziment Sarıgül and Emine Yani could not be saved despite all interventions and lost their lives.
With the passing of Gülsüm Öztekin Tunç, whose treatment at the hospital was ongoing, the death toll from the incident rose to three.
