Death toll rises to three in Batman gym fire

A fire broke out for an undetermined reason in the sauna section of a private gym located in Gültepe Neighborhood of Batman. During the evacuation efforts in the building, which was quickly filled with dense smoke, those affected by the smoke were transferred to hospitals. With lawyer Gülsüm Öztekin Tunç, who was in critical condition under treatment, also failing to be saved, the death toll rose to three.

Fire Breaks Out in the Sauna Section

A fire broke out for yet undetermined reasons in the sauna section of a private gym in Batman's Gültepe Neighborhood. The flames, which grew rapidly in a short time, and heavy smoke took over the gym.

Intervention by Teams and Evacuation

Upon notification, numerous fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Individuals trapped or present in the gym were quickly evacuated and taken to surrounding hospitals.

Loss of Life and Hospital Process

According to initial determinations, Emine Yağri and Şaziment Sarıoğlu had lost their lives in the fire. Seriously injured lawyer Gülsüm Öztekin Tunç, who was receiving treatment at the hospital, could also not be saved despite all the interventions of the doctors.

Injured Citizens and Teams

Numerous people who were in the gym at the time of the incident and affected by the smoke were taken under treatment. Among the injured were citizens as well as on-duty firefighters.
