Karatay Summer Sports Schools Concluded with the 2026 Term Closing Program

The 2026 term of the summer sports schools, which have been organized for eight years by the Karatay Municipality to contribute to the development of children, has ended. Thousands of children were brought together with sports through the closing program held at the Şehit Nihat Gün Sports Facility.

Training Provided in Twelve Different Branches

Activities were organized in football, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, judo, gymnastics, table tennis, traditional archery, tennis, swimming, wrestling, and kickboxing branches.

Thousands of registered athletes had the opportunity to improve their sports skills throughout the summer under the supervision of expert trainers.

Activities Continued for Eight Weeks

The trainings held between July 6 and August 29, 2026, continued for a total of eight weeks.

The work was successfully completed with fifty-eight expert trainers working in fourteen different facilities.

Ceremony at Şehit Nihat Gün Sports Facility

Due to the end of the season, a widely attended and enthusiastic closing program was organized at the Şehit Nihat Gün Sports Facility.

Coaches, athletes, and their families showed great interest in the ceremony, alongside the local protocol.

Emphasis on the Importance of Sports from the Protocol

Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca stated that they brought approximately four thousand children together with sports and attached importance to the project.

Konya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Muzaffer Çintimar and Karatay District Governor Cengiz Ayhan also thanked local administrations in their speeches.
